On Monday, Dec. 19th, 2022, Bishop William J. Barber II, DMin, and Yale Divinity School announced the establishment of the new Center for Public Theology and Public Policy.

“I am approaching this invitation to pray on behalf of all Members of the House with the solemnity and seriousness it deserves. I will be offering this morning’s prayer in deep reflection on the cries and demands of the least of these, the most deeply impacted people in this country.”

The new Center for Public Theology and Public Policy will work at the intersection of theology and advocacy. Barber joins Yale’s faculty as founding director.
